Rose Campaign 2020

Rose Campaign 2020

It is again May and we are very excited to start the Rose campaign. It’s time to lose our sleep again and focus on the primary plant in our portfolio.

The campaign started relatively flat in terms of workload. On the third day, we reached the peak in rose harvesting yields  although not at last year’s levels. However, the rate was maintained for much longer than in previous campaigns. The main reason for this levelling was the weather – colder than usual. This allowed us to evenly load the distillery and process all the flowers in due time without any hassle.

The middle of the campaign was far colder and we even had snow in the mountains. This resulted in reduced yield from harvesting and the campaign being prolonged. This period lasted for more than eight consecutive days, which was highly unusual.

Then at the end of campaign, the weather normalised and the harvest finished as expected.

The yield from the rose plants was lower than in previous years, however the quality was superb. Rose Otto yield was within the usual levels.

In general, it was a campaign in line with expectations as far as final products were concerned, however with ever-changing weather conditions. Despite the setbacks, it was a season full of positive emotions.

We have managed to produce long-waited products with great quality. Our Rose Otto and Rose water passed all quality tests and fully comply with the requirements.

We look forward to sharing what we have achieved for our clients in future posts!
